Christmas Masses
On the 24th of December 2025 at 5 pm, we shall have a Service of Carols, followed by Mass at 6 pm, both at St Philip’s, Middleton. On the 25th of December 2025 at 11 am, we shall have the Christmas Day Mass at St Peter’s, Belle Isle. You are invited to attend either or both.
SVP Christmas Appeal
As Christmas approaches, we invite you to help support local families in need. Please consider donating non-perishable food items to help us create Christmas parcels filled with comfort and kindness. Donations can be left in the boxes at the back of the churches. Thanks for your generosity. Saint Vincent de Paul Society (SVP).
Christmas Fayre plus Raffle Draw (Saturday, 29th November)
It was a huge success and raised almost £3,500 for the parish. Many thanks to all who participated, and to the volunteers and members of the Social Club.
Two Hours with Jesus the Healer
On 14 December, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., we will have Mass, a session of praise and worship, and prayers for the sick. All are invited.
Confirmation Prep
Our family Confirmation preparation classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Sessions will take place on 3rd and 10th February, 3rd and 10th March, 28th April, and 5th May 2026. Forms are available for registration. Candidates and parents must commit to attending all sessions. Bishop Marcus will visit to confer Confirmation on Sunday, 17 May 2026, at 11:30.
First Holy Communion 2026
Looking ahead, the next First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10th March 2026 at 5:00 PM, and the next First Holy Communion will be on Saturday, 9th May 2026 at 11:00 AM. Our upcoming sessions for First Holy Communion and Reconciliation Prep will be held on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on 1st and 8th February, 1st and 8th March, and 26th April 2026. Candidates and parents must commit to attending all sessions. Registration forms are available.
Jumble Sale Success
Despite the poor weather on Saturday, 4 October, our Social Group’s jumble sale was a great success — raising an impressive £700! A huge thank you to everyone who helped, donated, and supported the event. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
Feast of St Margaret Clitherow
I am so delighted with last weekend’s (September 20/21, 2025) Masses in honour of St Margaret Clitherow. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make them such a wonderful celebration. 331 (including 97 children) people joined us across the three Masses – what a blessing to our parish community. Congratulations to us all!
First Holy Communion
Our First Holy Communion will take place next Sunday, 12th October 2025 at 12:30pm in St Peter’s Church. We keep in our prayers the 17 candidates who are preparing for this important step in their journey of faith.
Looking ahead, the next First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10th March 2026 at 5:00pm, and the next First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday, 9th May 2026 at 11:00am.
Support Group and Prayer Group
There are Support Group Meetings on the following Mondays:
13th October, 10th November, and 8th December 2025 at 12 noon.
The Rosary Group will meet on Fridays:
10th October, 7th November, and 6th December 2025 at 6:30pm.
All meetings are at St Peter’s Church Belle Isle.
